Nya's Cockapoo puppies
Peanuts litter
Be sure to check out our CHC Families Only page for more pictures, videos and information about Nya's pups!
I'm a big Pup now, January 19
I blinked.....
Here we are at 8 weeks! Nya's Peanuts Cockapoo puppies head to their fur-ever homes this weekend.
We have had an absolute blast with this litter and they have worked through our puppy curriculum wonderfully. Willing to approach novel objects & people with confidence and a happy wagging tail, quick startle recovery, and manding (a mode of communication, where the puppies learn "if I sit, I get attention").
Of course, the pups look adorable for their last photo shoot rocking their Cooper Loves Sophie PEANUTS themed bandanas.

Waiting for Visits, January 8
All ready to meet our families!
After eating breakfast and getting buffed and fluffed the pups and I eagerly await the arrival of our very excited families.
(Linus was loving Aria's favorite squirrel toy, shh...don't tell Ari). 😉
It's Fri-Yeah!, January 7
Well, we've made it to Friday! Tomorrow families will be coming to visit and select their fur-ever pup. We are so excited to meet our wonderful CHC families!
Lots of play and fun are on the schedule for today....
Except.....Apple has other plans. Momma woke up showing slight signs of pre-labor. She stuck close to me, even though it meant having to endure puppy energy (which she did and always does, with gentleness). *video below, left
When the time came for me to assist Apple and get her settled in to welcome her pups, my boys took over puppy and dog care. Looks like they were doing a great job and having loads of fun. *video below, right (Devin and Linus)
Baby It's Cold Outside, January 5
With snow and temps dropping we decided to stay inside nice and warm with Nya's pups. We enjoyed lots of play and snuggles. It's so fun to watch as the pups grow more confident to explore and more capable to walk and climb. So much change in 8 short weeks.
When it's quiet and you wonder where the little guy is....
and you find this......
you know you're doing something right.....
Reid adores our pups and doggies, and will often climb into pens or snuggle up on a doggie bed just to love on them.
Checklists and curriculum are wonderful in helping raise pups right - but they can not take the place of genuine love. ❤️🐾💙
5 weeks - 4 days, january 4
Nya's Cockapoo puppies turned 5 weeks this past Friday. They are motoring about, loving their new (larger) weaning pen (where they have learned exceptionally quick where to potty and where not to), and get so excited to be held - played with - and fed. Charlie, Sally, Marcie, Linus and Lucy come quick when we use our puppy call ("Puppy, puppy, puppy" to announce mealtime).
We have family visits this coming weekend - and I am so excited to meet the wonderful CHC families these pups will make their fur-ever homes with.

Let me help.....

Two weeks, December 11
Nya's Cockapoo puppies turned 2 weeks on Friday, though these little overachievers began opening eyes early in the week. They continue to gain weight nicely and spend most of their time snuggled up with momma. We continue daily ENS, weight tracking, and physical touch. Over the last couple of days they've found their legs, though they are quite wobbly.

Turning one (week that is) tomorrow, December2
A name theme has been chosen.....Peanuts. With Nya's Cockapoo puppies arriving the day after Thanksgiving and sharing Christmas with us, we thought how fitting her littles could be named after the beloved characters from a couple of our favorite holiday movies - A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and A Charlie Brown Christmas. And so we have: Sally, Charlie Brown, Marcie, Lucy and Linus.

The Girls
The Boys
Look who's here! November 26
Nya welcomed her first litter of Cockapoo puppies late Friday evening.
Momma has 5 beautiful pups - 3 girls ❤️❤️❤️ and 2 boys 💙💙. Puppies are doing what all neonates do - sleeping and eating. Nya transitioned to her role as momma smoothly and is so sweet and gentle.
Did you know that a momma dog licking her babes is not only for cleaning purposes (grooming), but helps promote bonding between them? For the pups it helps their nervous system develop (activates a pups GR gene - which controls responses to stress - a licked pup grows up to be more relaxed in response to stress) and for momma it helps create oxytocin and prolactin - both hormones help with milk production and creating an extremely close bond and mommas maternal instincts (protectiveness and attention to her littles).
We have begun our Puppy Culture ENS protocols and will continue working through PC's wonderful and loving puppy curriculum and enrichment program over the next 8 weeks. CHC fams will be able to see pictures and videos of our daily handling excercises as well as enrichment activities on our CHC Families Only page.
Note: 12/1 ENS videos are up! Go check them out - CHC Families Only
